[House Rules]New Spells

I wrote these spells and the accompanying spells and items as a extrapolation from Ogre’s Strength.  Their effects, if built into other spells via the spell builder would cost the same as ‘The Strength of an Ogre’ as their base.

Cat’s Grace                         Range: touch

Arcane 2                              Duration: 3 turns

This spell grants the recipient the dexterity and reflexes of a cat. For the duration of the spell, the character has an effective Dexterity score of 18, receiving a +3 bonus to attack throws with missile weapon, initiative, and AC. In addition, the character gains a +2 to all saving throws against traps where dexterity or speed might matter, and the character’s movement rate is doubled. This spell is used to create gloves of cat’s grace.

Oxen Endurance                              Range: touch

Arcane 2                                              Duration: 3 turns

This spell grants the recipient the toughness and endurance of an ox. For the duration of the spell, the character has an effective Constitution score of 18, receiving a +3 bonus to hit points per level and other benefits that this ability score confers. In addition, the character does not fatigue under this spell, needing no rest every 6 turns and they gain a +2 to saves versus poison and disease . This spell is used to create belt of oxen endurance.

King’s Mien                                       Range: touch

Arcane 2                                              Duration: 3 turns

This spell grants the recipient the nobility and bearing of a king. For the duration of the spell, the character has an effective Charisma score of 18, receiving a +3 bonus reaction rolls and other benefits that this ability score confers. In addition, any hirelings or mercenaries serving the character gain a +1 to their morale, and the character may inspire courage in their allies as a bard once during the duration. This spell is used to create crown of king’s mein.

New Items

Gloves of Cat’s Grace: These gloves are made of supple leather, and are usually black or white in color.  When a character wears both of them, they gain an effective Dexterity of 18, a +2 to all saving throws against traps where dexterity or speed might matter, and the character’s movement rate is doubled.

Belt of Oxen’s Endurance: This thick leather belt looks well worn and rough, the kind of thing a farmer or peasant might wear.  But when donned, it grants the wearer an effective Constitution of 18.  Further, they gain a +2 to saves versus poison and disease, and effectively have the benefits of the Enduarance proficiency.

Crown of King’s Mein: This iron crown looks old, yet somehow resolute and dignified.  When donned, it’s wearer shines with the light of true leadership.  While worn, their Charisma is treated as an 18.  In addition, all henchmen and mercenaries directly serving the character gain a +1 to their morale and once per day (or one additional time per day), the wearer may inspire courage as a bard.

    I like the spells man. A handy little addition and also useful. I like a lot of the stuff you come up with for ACKS. They give handy ideas and can serve as good inspiration.
